Bursa, once the capital of the Ottoman Empire, now attracts its visitors to explore popular skiing resorts at Uludag, natural beauties and historical sites.
Bursa, known affectionately as Green Bursa for its natural beauties and magnificent mosques, was once the capital of the Ottoman Empire and is today one of Turkey s most pleasant towns to visit. Bursa is situated at the junction of Uludag, a mountain with snow-covered peaks throughout the year, and an immense fertile plain. The city s historical interest is mainly the Ottoman monuments, the most significant of which is the Yesil Turbe (Green Tomb), built of marble and cut stone and decorated with exquisite turquoise ceramics. another is the Ulu Cami, a mosque where the Sultan met with his entourage to discuss official business.
First capitial of Ottoman empire, Uludag is the famous mountain of Marmara Region, One of the biggest industrial city of Turkey, Wellknown for ches nuts and Turkish delights, Bursa is the capital of textile and silk. The cablecar (teleferik) can not be operated due the weather conditions.
Bursa’s heart has been pounding in The Market for centuries, and KozaHan had always been the most precious pearl of the market. Even if it has lost its previous importance Koza Han still tries to liven Bursa up with its new functions. Like all the other inns Koza Han had changed its function recently. The places of the silk merchants of the past have now become a place where we sit and enjoy small talk over tea.
This authentic location and resting under hundreds of years of old oak trees and having a little chat has become an attraction for the people of Bursa.
Koza Han; the most beautiful and mightiest of all. The word inn for most of us is almost synonymous with Koza Han. Koza Han, the flower of the market has been a location where merchants from all over the world meet for centuries. It is still one of the first stops of silk merchants even there is no longer a silk Exchange market.
